My path

Raised in Hebrew and settled in Paris for over twenty years, I earned a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Bar-Ilan University, then a Bachelor's degree in Art History from Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.

I went on to train at the CNAM (Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers) and obtained my carte de guide-conférencier, the French national accreditation required to lead groups inside national museums and monuments. It is what allows me to take you through the Louvre or the MAHJ as a guide, not as a visitor.

That accreditation opened the doors of the Museum of Jewish Art and History (MAHJ), in the heart of the Marais, where I have been an official guide for the past three years.

My academic background also includes Jewish Studies at Paris VIII University.

I guide in English, French and Hebrew.

What that means for your visit

My sociology background is what grounds my work on communities: the Sephardic migrations of the post-war years, the life of the neighborhoods, the questions of identity that travellers actually ask. An art historian by training, I help you read the works and the places, not just look at them. Raised in Hebrew and settled in Paris for twenty years, I also bring a double perspective on the history of Jews in France, from the inside and from the outside. Two ways of making a tour richer, whether you are an expert on the subject or simply curious.

My professional guide card allows me to guide you officially inside the Louvre and the Musée d'Orsay.

How a tour with me works

Every tour is private: your group only, from one person to six, never merged with strangers. We meet at a métro exit or a landmark confirmed with your booking, and we walk at the pace of the slowest person in the group, with stops to sit when needed. Walking tours last two and a half to three hours; museum visits are built around a focused route rather than an exhausting one.

I guide in English, French and Hebrew myself, and I can often arrange another language on request. Prices are a fixed amount for the whole group, shown on each tour page with the per-person equivalent, and museum tickets are the only extra, stated where it applies. See all tours and prices.

One thing to plan around: I keep Shabbat, so I never guide on Saturdays or on Jewish holidays. If you are in Paris over a weekend, we schedule your visit for Friday or Sunday, and the Shabbat & Kosher page helps you make the most of Saturday on your own.
