The Israeli eye on French Jewish history

My path

Born in Israel and living in Paris for over twenty years, I earned a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Bar-Ilan University, then a Bachelor's degree in Art History from Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.

I went on to train at the CNAM (Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers) and obtained my carte de guide-conférencier, the French national accreditation required to lead groups inside national museums and monuments. It is what allows me to take you through the Louvre or the MAHJ as a guide, not as a visitor.

That accreditation opened the doors of the Museum of Jewish Art and History (MAHJ), in the heart of the Marais, where I have been an official guide for the past three years.

I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Jewish Studies, to keep deepening the history I share with you every day.

I guide in English, French and Hebrew.

What that means for your visit

My sociology background is what grounds my work on communities: the Sephardic migrations of the post-war years, the life of the neighborhoods, the questions of identity that travellers actually ask. My art history training turns a walk through the Louvre into a historian's reading. And my own path, from Israel to Paris, means I explain French Jewish history the way visitors from Israel and America need to hear it.
